P4scad3.exe LTSpice error
|
|
|
I would like to run P4scad3.exe on a P4 (2001 vintage dell 8100) but
get an "Unknown special function name: "yyyyyy" (these have accent).
Any ideas on how to correct it?
Thanks in advance, Bill |

Hello Bill,
Some internal and non documented devices in LTspice have been
changed over the years.
If you still want to run it, then you have to install an old
version of swcadii.exe from the time of this special/eperimental
release.
I recommend to forget this old version, because there are
so many new features and improvements over the years, that it
doesn't make sense to stick to this old versions. Also a lot
of new LT-ICs have been added which require the new internal models.
Best regards,

Helmut,
Here's a good one for you...I am running sims with ltc1775 circuit and
it takes a lot of time so, I went by the IT guy and asked if there were
any new fast computers around that I could try just to see how much
improvement there might be. Turns out there were 4 new PCs available
for upgrading older PCs like my 2001 vintage PC.
Use LTSpice and get a free upgrade of your PC!!!!
All seriousness aside...what about a updated version of P4scad3?
Bill

Hello Bill,
There is a database about simulation speed for many types of CPUs
in the LTspice group (section Database).
If you you tell me what CPU you have, I(or you) can estimate how fast
it may be with the latest CPUs.

You could send an email to the address given in the Help->About
of the LTspice program and ask for new P$-compilaton.
It's simply to much work to do that more often.
Best regards,
Helmut
