Problems hearing DVD sound...... ???
|
|
|
I have a SONY DVD player that's about 5 years old or so. It workes
well however on some of the "newer" DVDs I cannot hear the people
talking. I can hear the music, some sound effects etc... but no
voices.
I have tried messing around with the audio settings such as surround,
logic, dolby etc... and still no voices.
Any idea what may be happening here? My TV is a stereo GE 31 inch TV
which is about 7 years old. It works fine and we have never had any
audio issues.
I just don't understand why this is only with some of the NEWER DVDs.
Thanks in advance
DAVID
NOTE: I am simply using the TVs internal speakers. I've had no other
audio issues of this type in the past, whether or not I'm using the
VCR, DVD player or just cable. |

It would have been best for you to indicate the DVD player's model number,
in case someone here knows it.
The most common cause of your description, is that the DVD audio is not set
up for the standard stereo. It is probably set up for a particular feature
that your amp and speaker arrangement cannot handle, or is not set up to
follow.
Get the user instructions for your player, and go through the menus for
setting up the audio. Try the standard stereo mode to start with.
