I want to jazz up my computer cabinet a bit by adding few LEDs. I want to power them up using the molex connector. I hav purchased 5 standard red 5mm and 5 standard blue 5mm LEDs. I know dat the molex can giv a max of 12 volts which is between the yellow wire and the black wire next to it. So i want to know:

1) Can i utilize all the power coonections available from a single molex connector(dat is, 5v, 7v, 12v) simultaneously?

2) How many max LEDs can i connect?

3) Should i connect them in series or parallel?

4) Also r resistors or diodes required?

yes

It depends on how you connect them. If you connect them in series then
you cold connect 1 led for each 1-1.5 V.
If you connect them in parallel, the sky ( or the power source Smile ) is the limit.

as you wish..., depends on what you want to do.

no diodes required,
resistors will be required, especially if you connect them in parallel.
Basically you have to make sure the Voltage on each led is not more then 1.5V so you'll have to put resistor in front of the led to lower the voltage
