Toshiba projection TV problem

I have a Toshiba model TP61H60 projection TV that the left side of the screen image has shadows when turned on. The unit will power itself off after a few minutes and then the power light blinks. Any help would be appreciated. |

Sounds like a failed vertical circuit. I don't do projection TV's, but there is a clear fault in the vertical circuit (possibly beam deflection) and the "processor" has detected it after a few minutes use. The flashing power light is an indication of power, but with a problem per it's self-diagnostic has been detected. The unit shut down to prevent further damage.
I can't say how to fix it, but vertical deflection seems to be a likely suspect. Check for an unusually-cold (physically) driver transistor (may indicate a total failure). It is likely that the opposite driver is running too hot as well.
This is just an educated guess on my part. |
